Job summary

VW International is seeking an HVAC/R technician to provide journeyman-level maintenance for a medical treatment facility in Delaware. You will perform preventive and corrective tasks, troubleshoot complex systems, and support environmental controls critical to patient care.

The role requires current Delaware HVACR credentials, EPA 608, and recognized journeyman qualifications, with experience in healthcare environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of HVAC/refrigeration maintenance in healthcare facilities.
• Current Delaware HVACR authorization appropriate to the work performed.
• Federally approved journeyman credential or equivalent.
• One PWS-approved HVAC qualification (NATE, HVAC Excellence, ICC, or DoD equivalent).
• EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerants; Universal preferred.
• OEM qualification/training before operating BAS/DDC systems.
• TAB work requires NEBB or AABC certification.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet access requirements.
• Ability to read work orders, manuals, drawings, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and operational support for commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Maintain air-handling units, rooftops, split systems, pumps, motors, coils, dampers, controls, and related equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control deficiencies and restore operation.
• Handle refrigerants only with proper certification and authorization.
• Support environmental conditions for healthcare operations (temperature, humidity, ventilation, pressure).
• Coordinate BAS/DDC troubleshooting with OEM-qualified personnel and perform BAS work only when OEM qualified.
• Complete PM/CM documentation, logs, and refrigerant records.
• Respond to HVAC alarms, equipment failures, and emergencies affecting clinical operations.
• All other work as assigned.
