The University of Iowa's Iowa Health Care Department of Engineering Services seeks a HVAC Manager to lead the HVAC shop, refrigeration, and wireless temperature monitoring operations, ensuring maintenance, project management and code compliance while managing the budget and coordinating capital and non-capital projects with UI departments.

The role requires on-call availability 24/7 for emergencies, collaboration with engineering teams, and compliance with Joint Commission, local/state codes,

Formación

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HVAC, physical plant, facilities management or related experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in staff performance management.
• Demonstrated effective leadership while managing personnel under deadlines and resources.
• Occasional driving is required, valid UI Fleet Safety compliant license.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems operations and building automation systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead HVAC shop operations including maintenance, repair, and preventive/corrective maintenance planning.
• Oversee budgeting and resource planning; monitor expenses and variances.
• Coordinate capital and non-capital projects with UI departments and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, ASHRAE, and EPA regulations.
• Train staff in safety practices and industry standards.
• Schedule staff and ensure safe, efficient operations.
