Job summary

Optalis Healthcare is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe, and homelike environment at ShorePointe in Michigan. You will support infection control and survey readiness, cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily and assisting with emergency cleaning tasks.

Preferred candidates have housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality and can follow instructions while handling cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.

Qualifications

• Functional literacy and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily per facility standards.
• Perform terminal cleaning of resident rooms as needed.
• Clean windows, walls, ceilings, floors, and furniture according to schedules.
• Handle and dispose of waste, including biohazardous waste, per facility procedures.
• Monitor for pests and report concerns to supervisor.
• Assist with emergency cleaning tasks and survey preparation.
• Knowledge of infection control and housekeeping standards.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Respect for resident dignity and privacy.
