Job summary

Optalis Healthcare is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors in our Ann Arbor facility. You will perform daily cleaning of resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, following facility standards to support infection control and survey readiness.

This role requires physical stamina to stand, walk, lift up to 40 lbs, and operate cleaning equipment safely. Prior healthcare or hospitality housekeeping experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Functional literacy and ability to follow instructions.
• Preferred: Prior housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily per facility standards.
• Perform terminal cleaning of resident rooms as needed.
• Clean windows, walls, ceilings, floors, and furniture according to schedules.
• Handle and dispose of waste, including biohazardous waste, per facility procedures.
• Monitor for pests and report concerns to supervisor.
• Assist with emergency cleaning tasks and survey preparation.
• Knowledge of infection control and housekeeping standards.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Respect for resident dignity and privacy.
