Job summary

Chateau Rehab and Nursing Center in Rochelle Park, NJ is seeking a professional and friendly Receptionist on a PRN basis. You will be the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, and staff, ensuring smooth communication and a welcoming environment.

The role involves answering calls, taking messages, providing information, guiding visitors, managing sign-ins, and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred
• Experience in a nursing home or healthcare setting strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and professional phone etiquette
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls, determine the nature of the call, and direct callers to the appropriate person or department.
• Take and deliver messages or transfer calls to voicemail when staff are unavailable.
• Provide information about the facility, including directions and general inquiries.
• Operate the paging or phone system as needed.
• Facilitate communication between residents and callers for those without personal phones.
• Page or locate staff within the facility as requested.
• Greet and assist visitors, directing them to appropriate offices or resident rooms.
• Ensure visitors and guests comply with facility policies and maintain security procedures, including the sign-in process.
• Monitor the front entrance for elopement risk residents.
• Maintain positive communication with residents, families, staff, and healthcare partners.
• Keep up-to-date directories, contact lists, and emergency numbers.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
• Track and monitor the presence of sales representatives within the facility.
