Job summary

Archbold Memorial is seeking a Floor Technician to operate and maintain floor care equipment, perform stripping, sealing and waxing of floors, and ensure high-traffic areas meet hospital standards.

The role requires adherence to safety guidelines, proper PPE use, and capability to work independently or as part of a team in a hospital environment, with a focus on infection prevention and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 19 years of age.
• Experience in floor cleaning preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain floor care equipment including auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, extractors, and wet vacuums.
• Perform stripping, sealing, and waxing of hard floors.
• Burnish and polish floors to maintain high-gloss, slip-resistant surfaces.
• Shampoo carpets and extract soils using commercial carpet cleaning equipment.
• Identify floor damage, wear patterns, or safety hazards and report to leadership.
• Ensure high-traffic areas meet hospital presentation standards.
• Follow OSHA, CDC, and hospital safety guidelines.
• Wear proper PPE at all times.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages promptly.
• Participate in ongoing training related to infection prevention and workplace safety.
• Interact professionally and compassionately with patients and hospital staff.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPPA compliance).
• May have to perform other duties as required.
