Job summary

Booker T Washington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in SHREVEPORT, LA is seeking a Floor Tech to clean, maintain, and restore all flooring throughout the facility. The role supports a safe, sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors while following regulations.

Responsibilities include operating floor care equipment, waxing/refinishing floors, carpet cleaning, and assisting with housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or long-term care floor care preferred.
• Able to operate commercial floor care equipment safely.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and extractors.
• Strip, wax, seal, and refinish hard-surface floors.
• Buff and burnish floors to maintain appearance and safety.
• Clean and shampoo carpets as needed.
• Maintain all flooring surfaces: sweep, mop, and dust mop.
• Inspect floors and report maintenance concerns or hazards.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures.
• Safely store and handle cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Assist with housekeeping and room setups as needed.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and disaster response activities.
