Job summary

Ochsner Health seeks an Environmental Services worker to perform cleaning and support duties in patient, clinical, public and administrative areas under the ES Supervisor.

You will maintain VCT and carpet floors, operate scrubbers and other equipment, follow infection-prevention practices, and work as part of a team with reliable attendance and flexible scheduling as needed.

Strong reading comprehension and ability to follow directions are important in this healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Required: None
• Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating Environmental Service equipment (scrubbers, burnishers, carpet extractors)
• Basic knowledge of VCT and carpet floor care
• Ability to read, write and understand English to follow instructions
• Flexible schedule when needed
• Ability to work as a team and take direction with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Maintains VCT Floors and carpet floors according to Environmental Services standards.
• Maintains Environmental Services closets and equipment in a clean aseptic and orderly manner.
• Exhibits effective judgment and decision making.
• Assists with cleaning projects and works as part of a team.
• Maintains attendance/punctuality and personal appearance.
