Description

As a Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Analyst, you will support a wide variety of projects involving the design, funding, measurement, and financial analysis of employer health and welfare benefit programs, including medical, dental, life, disability, and voluntary benefits. You will interface with client teams, contribute to analyses and client deliverables, and ensure quality standards are met. This role offers the opportunity to grow your health and benefits business acumen, financial skills, project management, and communication skills by working on cutting-edge projects alongside industry leaders.

The Role

  1. Support multiple client teams in developing financial analyses, outputs, and deliverables across a regional team with guidance.
  2. Develop proficiency in core financial, actuarial, and analytics theories, models, and tools.
  3. Support accurate claim reporting and financial modeling to guide client decisions.
  4. Gain knowledge of health and welfare benefit programs.
  5. Assist with financial modeling of benefit plan designs, cost strategies, and budget projections.
  6. Execute specific tasks contributing to client deliverables, adhering to deadlines.
  7. Collaborate with Global Delivery Centers and Client Service teams for project management.
  8. Build internal relationships and work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of professional experience, preferably in benefit consulting, brokerage, health underwriting, or actuarial functions.
  • Basic knowledge of health and welfare products and services.
  • Strong data management, math, and analytics skills.
  • Ability to identify data inconsistencies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong client service orientation.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and in teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining.
  • Relevant financial experience or degree.
  • Progress towards health actuarial or CEBS designation (optional).
