Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian invites undergraduates to join its Finance Summer Intern Program in New York City for eight weeks of hands-on experience in hospital finance operations. You will analyze patient access processes, assist with operational planning and registration, and work closely with mentors from Finance and Hospital Administration.

Tours, volunteering, and networking are integral parts of the program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, healthcare management, or related area.
• Completion of finance or accounting courses
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
• Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Highly inquisitive, focused, and proactive
• Good judgment and discretion when working with confidential information
• Eligible candidates must be a rising senior undergraduate student who graduates in 2028
• Enrollment in a bachelor’s program
• Knowledge of computers and various Microsoft office applications

Responsibilities

• Assist with operational planning, coordination, and registration processes at specific sites.
• Support projects focused on improving patient access within the organization.
• Work with mentors and leaders to gain exposure to finance and hospital administration.
• Participate in meetings, reviews, and presentations to Senior Leadership.
• Engage in hospital tours, volunteer activities, and networking events.
• Contribute to data analysis and reporting relevant to patient access and performance goals.
