Layer Health is hiring its first Forward Deploy Data Scientist to work directly with customers and internal teams to translate messy healthcare data into actionable insights and ML‑ready pipelines. You will collaborate with health systems, hospital IT, product, and customer success teams to validate data pipelines, share insights, and ensure measurable value in clinical workflows.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of professional data science experience, healthcare experience a bonus.
• Excellent communication skills for customer‑facing collaboration.
• Strong Python and data science workflow skills.
• Experience with ML Ops tools and modern ML/NLP libraries.

Responsibilities

• Partner with health systems and customers to translate data goals into actionable pipelines.
• Design and execute data and ML investigations on large structured and unstructured healthcare datasets.
• Deploy and operationalize ML/LLM models and analytics pipelines.
• Collaborate with customer success, product, and engineering teams.
• Communicate results clearly to technical and clinical stakeholders.
• Build reusable playbooks and best practices.
• Stay current on ML/NLP and healthcare data technologies.
• Foster collaboration and rigor across data science and product teams.
