Job summary

FutureCare Health & Management in Baltimore seeks a Maintenance Assistant to help keep all facility assets in good repair. Under limited direction, you will perform preventative maintenance on building systems, repair tasks, and keep accurate logs and reports, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory codes.

The role supports residents and staff, adheres to budget guidelines for supplies, and requires the ability to lift 50 pounds, multitask, and work a flexible shift.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• At least 2 years’ experience in building maintenance is highly preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility environment is a plus.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Polite and courteous demeanor toward residents and staff.
• Ability to multi-task and work a flexible shift is highly desirable.
• Ability to meet physical demands including standing, bending, stooping, walking, and lifting at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provides ongoing preventative maintenance for the facility, building, building systems, fire/safety equipment and medical equipment.
• Performs repairs and maintains accurate records and logs and produces required reports.
• Ensures compliance with State and Federal Regulatory codes.
• Adheres to FutureCare’s ethics and compliance policies.
• Maintains a clean, safe working environment in the maintenance workshop.
• Reads and logs refrigerator and water temperatures daily.
• Monitors budgetary guidelines regarding supplies and services.
