Job summary

McClure Post-Acute is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Oakland. This full-time role focuses on keeping the facility safe, clean, and well-maintained for residents, staff, and visitors.

The position offers meaningful work in a healthcare setting and opportunities for skill development across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with strong problem-solving and teamwork

Qualifications

Previous maintenance, facilities, or repair experience preferred
Skilled in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to maintenance needs promptly
Previous healthcare or skilled nursing facility experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Assist with general building and facility maintenance
Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance
Help maintain resident rooms, common areas, and facility grounds
Troubleshoot and address basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical issues
Assist with painting, drywall, carpentry, and other general repairs
Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders
Help ensure the facility remains safe, clean, and in good working condition
Follow all applicable safety procedures and facility policies
Assist the Maintenance Director with projects and other duties as needed
