Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of general to skilled preventive maintenance across clinics and facilities. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and test equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, and machinery, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Some painting and routine tasks are included. The role awards opportunities to pursue educational growth and comply with industry standards within a major health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year general maintenance experience required.
• 1–3 years general maintenance experience preferred. Hospital or healthcare facility maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and facilities for proper operation and conditions.
• Maintain routine records and diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform repairs, replacements and tests to ensure proper operation.
• Follow safety regulations and guidelines per UAHSF policies.
• Conform to productivity standards and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Assist with painting and general maintenance tasks as needed.
