Job summary

IU Health in Frankfort, IN seeks a Maintenance Technician to uphold a safe, compliant clinical environment. You will perform routine maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems while supporting life safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience, basic computer skills, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. Occasional on-call or weekend work may be necessary to ensure patient care operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must have a valid Indiana driver's license with proof of insurance.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, fire and air systems.
• Able to read blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance management systems.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Respond to work orders promptly and assist with patient care area safety.
• Support life safety systems and participate in drills.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and inspections.
• Coordinate with clinical staff and vendors to minimize disruption to care.
• Occasionally on-call or weekend work may be required.
