Job summary

Indiana University Health System in Indianapolis is seeking a full-time facilities maintenance technician to service and repair building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety equipment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to calls, read blueprints, train teammates, and mentor others while complying with healthcare codes. A work truck will be provided during working hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• May require a valid Indiana driver's license with proof of insurance.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical, plumbing, fire system devices and air systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Extensive knowledge of healthcare building codes and OSHA/ Life Safety/ Joint Commission rules.
• Advanced knowledge of specialized tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduled and non-scheduled preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of facility systems.
• Responds to dispatched maintenance calls and repairs secondary utility systems.
• Maintains and inspects machinery per code and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates with other services and departments; mentors colleagues.
• Trains teammates on various skills and tasks; performs related duties as assigned.
