Job summary

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center in Bradenton, FL, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine facility maintenance and ensure safe, efficient operation of the building and grounds. This intermediate role supports the Plant Operation Department and adheres to safety regulations.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in maintenance, a valid Florida driver license, and experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
2–3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a behavioral health or hospital setting.
Must have valid, current Florida Driver License.
Must demonstrate experience in electrical and distribution systems, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, water and sewer systems, powered equipment, automobiles and safety and fire protection.

Responsibilities

General facility maintenance, carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring and minor plumbing.
Troubleshoot electrical systems, mechanical equipment and HVAC components under supervision.
Prioritize and close work orders with timely documentation.
Perform inspections and preventive maintenance per regulatory guidelines.
Follow safety practices including PPE use, lockout/tagout and ladder/hand-tool safety.
Navigate behavioral health environments ensuring patient and staff safety.
Communicate clearly with clinical staff, patients and vendors.
