Job summary

Fairport Rehab & Nursing Center in Fairport, NY is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to join our Day Shift. The role focuses on keeping the building, systems, and resident-care equipment safe, clean, and fully functional to support high-quality patient care.

You will perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and grounds, troubleshoot issues, document work in CMMS, and coordinate with nursing and other teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance or related field.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Familiarity with maintenance documentation and work orders.
• Basic computer and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong safety and infection prevention awareness.
• Ability to lift and work outdoors/indoors in varying conditions.
• Willingness to on-call evenings, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and lighting.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and perform repairs promptly.
• Perform minor carpentry, painting, patching, and general repairs.
• Inspect buildings and rooms for safety hazards.
• Assist with equipment installations and room renovations.
• Maintain resident-care equipment and ensure safe function.
• Document work in CMMS and maintain logs.
• Follow safety, infection prevention, and PPE procedures.
• Coordinate with nursing and other departments to minimize disruption.
