Job summary

SolutionHealth in Manchester, NH is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to support the Facilities Management team with operating and maintaining all mechanical equipment across the facility.

You will run boilers, chillers, pumps, and other machinery, perform preventive maintenance, monitor alarms, and keep logs. Strong preference for candidates with 2–4 years in plant operations or building maintenance, especially in healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in plant operations and/or building maintenance required.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make periodic checks of unmanned machinery spaces and monitor designated machinery.
• Start and operate boilers, chillers, blowers, pumps, compressors, generators, cooling towers and other equipment to maintain plant operations.
• Observe system operations and ensure compliance with procedures; adjust fuels, tanks and gas bottles as needed.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Respond to system alarms (refrigeration, medical gas, heating/cooling, boilers, generators) and take corrective action.
• Initiate First Response actions during emergencies per policy and plans.
• Maintain boiler room and machine room logs (steam, fuel, water, test results, HVAC parameters).
• Monitor after-hours maintenance staff, contractors, or vendor personnel.
