Job summary

NHC HealthCare Columbia is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Director to oversee the building and grounds in Columbia, TN. You will lead the maintenance team, manage MEP systems, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while coordinating with other departments to minimize disruption to patient care.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of maintenance experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• High school diploma or technical school graduate.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
• Proven ability to direct others and effectively manage a department.
• Strong organizational, record-keeping, and budget-conscious purchasing skills.
• Professional and tactful communication with patients, families, visitors, and team members.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, equipment, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise all maintenance and repair programs for the building and grounds.
• Plan and execute repair projects, new construction, and equipment installations.
• Manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to minimize disruption to patient care.
• Maintain strict adherence to local codes, ordinances, safety regulations, and NHC standards.
• Manage department supplies, equipment care, record keeping, and cost estimation.
• Provide leadership and direction to maintenance team members.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients, families, visitors, and Partners.
