Job summary

HeartHealth seeks a Maintenance Assistant to help keep our nursing home safe, functional, and comfortable for residents. You will perform general repairs, complete preventive maintenance, and prepare resident rooms for admissions.

Responsibilities include room turnover, assisting residents with decor and setup, and ensuring safety standards such as fire safety systems and emergency equipment are maintained. You will keep walkways clear and maintain safe, organized maintenance areas.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of general maintenance experience, healthcare/SNF preferred.
• Basic knowledge of tools, plumbing, electrical, and painting.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
• Patient, compassionate, and respectful demeanor with senior residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and equipment fixes.
• Prepare resident rooms for new admissions (patch, paint, inspect fixtures).
• Assist residents with hanging decor, setting up TVs, and moving furniture safely.
• Inspect fire safety systems, call bells, and emergency equipment per OSHA and Life Safety codes.
• Maintain clear walkways, snow/ice removal, and safe maintenance areas.
