Job summary

Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center in Newton, NJ is seeking a Facilities Supervisor to assist the Facilities Engineering Department under the Facilities Manager. You will oversee maintenance, regulatory compliance, and vendor coordination to maintain a safe, efficient environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities include supervising a diverse maintenance team, ensuring preventive maintenance, and managing budgetary expenditures related to facility operations and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two-year supervisory experience in a Facilities Department.
• Seven years Facilities experience in a Healthcare Facilities Department.
• Associate degree preferred, OSHA-10

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repair of facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler)
• Coordinate routine repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance schedules, and emergency repairs
• Review and maintain facility documentation; ensure CMMS data accuracy
• Ensure regulatory, safety, and environmental standards are met
• Work with third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers to support the facility
• Ensure vendors follow facility safety requirements
• Assist Manager in enforcing ILSM protocols during fire protection equipment impairment
• Maintain compliance records for inspections, maintenance and repairs
• Report monthly expenses to the Facilities Manager and monitor costs
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and report to the Manager
• Coordinate emergency procedures and response teams
• Promote energy-saving initiatives within the facility
• Supervise Boiler operators, Carpenters, Electricians, HVAC mechanics, and other maintenance staff
