Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an Executive Director, Facilities Planning and Design to guide a multi-year capital program and a broad portfolio of facilities. You will partner with NFDC and Service Delivery leaders to advance planning standards, improve workflows, and ensure healthcare design aligns with industry best practices and KP branding.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, risk management, and collaboration with regional and national teams to optimize patient and staff environments

Qualifications

• Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in large-scale, technically complex planning and design capital projects, with at least ten (10) years in planning and design management or operational management.
• Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, planning, design, or construction management or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
• Architect License (from any state)

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of facility requirements and design options that deliver cost-effective solutions.
• Maintain active professional licensure as a Registered Architect.
• Develop the KP Architectural Design Studio with the VP, Planning and Design.
• Ensure planning and design solutions reflect industry best practices and optimize asset utilization.
• Develop and continuously improve planning tools that align with healthcare design best practices.
