Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a skilled plumber to install, maintain and repair water, sewer, steam, and gas systems within its Cedar Crest facilities. You will analyze blueprints, perform inspections, and respond to service requests in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or technical training in plumbing, 3 years of commercial/industrial plumbing experience (or less with technical school), ability to read drawings, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with required experience, or equivalent.
• Technical School Diploma in Plumbing or related trade.
• 3 years plumber experience in commercial/industrial setting, or <1 year with Technical School Diploma.
• Ability to read drawings/figures to understand layout of water supply, waste, and venting systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Skill in using hand and power tools to measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes blueprints and specifications to understand building layout.
• Maintains and repairs piping, valves, fixtures, drainage, steam and gas systems.
• Performs inspections, testing and preventative maintenance to meet codes and standards.
• Responds to trouble calls and emergency situations.
• Performs minor maintenance of electrical, mechanical equipment, HVAC, structures.
• Assists department colleagues across trades.
• Uses CMMS to document time and work completed.
• Maintains inventory and procures parts as needed.
