Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking Healthcare Engineers for Dayton VAMC to design, manage, and implement complex infrastructure projects that support clinical operations and patient care.

Responsibilities include capital asset planning, design coordination, construction management, adherence to VA design guides, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, NFPA, FDA, CAP and other standards in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Experience or education equivalent to GS-07 per VA standards
• Knowledge of healthcare facility engineering principles and practices
• Ability to interpret codes, standards and regulations for healthcare environments
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and communicate on complex engineering projects

Responsibilities

• Conducts capital asset and infrastructure planning and design across project life cycle
• Manages healthcare engineering projects and construction per VA policies and procedures
• Supports environment of care program to meet Joint Commission, FDA, CAP and NFPA requirements
• Performs post-project activities to ensure continuity of building and utility services
• Work schedule 0800-1630; Telework not available
