Job summary

Encompass Health seeks a Facilities Management Director to lead all building, grounds, and life-safety operations for our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. Reporting to hospital leadership, you will oversee maintenance, environmental services, and plant operations to ensure a safe, compliant, and patient-centered environment.

You will collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support high-quality, interdisciplinary rehabilitation care and drive continuous improvement, while managing

Qualifications

• CHFM certification preferred.
• CHC certification a plus.
• OSHA safety training.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily facilities, maintenance, and plant operations for the rehabilitation hospital.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, life-safety, and local building codes.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
• Manage facilities staff, schedules, performance, and development.
• Coordinate environmental services and support a clean, safe, patient-centered environment.
• Develop and manage capital and operating budgets for facilities.
• Direct vendor and contractor relationships and service contracts.
• Lead emergency preparedness, life-safety drills, and response planning.
• Plan and oversee renovation, repair, and small construction projects.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to support operational and patient-care needs.
