Job summary

Redmont Health and Rehabilitation Center in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to lead maintenance operations at our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. This full‑time leadership role focuses on building systems, life safety compliance, and a safe, comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience as Maintenance Director in healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, generators, and general building maintenance.
• Understanding of healthcare facility regulations and life safety compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with state surveys preferred.
• Licensure or certifications related to maintenance or facility operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility maintenance operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare, safety, and Life Safety Code regulations, including CMS and NFPA standards.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules, logs, and compliance documentation.
• Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, equipment, and grounds.
• Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate outside vendors and contractors.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and emergency facility issues.
• Support state surveys, inspections, and plans of correction as needed.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
