Job summary

Coffey Health System is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff. Duties include cleaning patient rooms, baths, laboratories, offices, and hallways across the health system, with emphasis on proper disinfection and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities also cover handling linens, laundry duties, and waste disposal, as well as assisting in safety drills and adhering to confidentiality policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Regularly able to lift/move up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as described.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and pleasant environment in patient/resident areas and health system facilities.
• Clean patient/resident rooms, baths, laboratories, offices, halls and other areas.
• Wash beds, mattresses, and remake beds after discharge; handle linens (wash, dry, fold, inspect, mend).
• Disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies; sweep, mop, wax and polish floors; clean rugs and upholstery.
• Perform laundry duties and manage waste, trash, and recycling per protocol.
• Assist during evacuations and participate in safety drills; attend trainings and meetings.
