Job summary

Qualifications

• Able to perform all cleaning/custodial functions including mopping, pushing and pulling carts, wall washing, vent cleaning, vacuuming.
• Understand procedures for the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemotherapy and infectious/bio-hazardous waste.
• Understand basic safety regulations and issues.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, the Custodian performs cleaning duties in assigned areas of the facility in both patient and non-patient areas; is responsible for cleaning and safeguarding of assigned areas; is responsible for assigned equipment; is responsible for determining supplies needed; is responsible for efficient usage of supplies; delivers clean linen and picks up soiled linen.
• Maintains required equipment and ensures proper storage and usage.
