Job summary

Exceptional Care for Children in Newark, DE is seeking an Environmental Services Technician Lead to provide hands-on leadership for housekeeping and laundry operations within our facility. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping, environmental services, custodial, laundry, or healthcare cleaning experience.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft 365 and Outlook.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assign and coordinate daily work schedules and zone assignments.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to Environmental Services staff.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure departmental standards are consistently met.
• Monitor employee productivity, attendance, punctuality, and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
• Coach team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety practices, infection control standards, and customer service expectations.
• Communicate departmental priorities, staffing needs, and operational concerns to management.
• Ensure adequate supplies, chemicals, and equipment are available for daily operations.
• Assist in managing workflow during high-volume periods, emergencies, and staffing shortages.
• Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and excellent work habits.
• Help investigate and resolve service concerns or environmental issues promptly.
• Participate in departmental meetings, audits, inspections, and regulatory surveys.
• Assist management with performance documentation and corrective action recommendations when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records, checklists, and departmental reports.
