Job summary

Gateways Hospital & Mental Health Center in Los Angeles is seeking a Lead EVS Technician to oversee environmental services operations at the Main Hospital. Under the EVS Manager's direction, you will schedule staff, assign duties, provide training, monitor performance, and ensure infection prevention standards are followed in a clean, safe patient environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role, and the ability to pass DOJ/FBI/CCL background

Qualifications

• Knowledge of hospital infection prevention and cleaning methods.
• Minimum two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience.
• Must pass DOJ, FBI and CCL background clearance; able to lift up to 50 lbs; follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership within the EVS department and coordinates staff.
• Maintains compliance with OSHA, DHS, TJC, NFPA and other standards.
• Schedules staff, assigns duties, trains new hires and monitors performance.
• Responds to service calls and ensures timely cleaning across the facility.
• Performs daily cleaning tasks including floors, surfaces and bathrooms.
• Ensures supply rooms are stocked and organized.
• Wears PPE and follows safety protocols.
