Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment in patient and resident areas. The role involves floor cleaning, waste disposal, and assisting in laundry while adhering to infection control guidelines.

You will operate cleaning equipment, manage supplies, and follow protective equipment procedures to ensure health standards are met across diverse hospital locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas according to infection control and safety guidelines.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors using manual or powered equipment.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate and use technology applications as available.
• Follow protective equipment guidelines and keep storage and carts clean and organized.
• Work hours vary by location and may include overtime, nights, weekends and holidays.
