Job summary

Good Samaritan in Oberlin, KS is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient and resident areas. The role includes cleaning floors, emptying waste, and assisting in laundry while following infection control and safety guidelines.

Hours vary by location with shifts including days and weekends. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with six months of housekeeping experience; familiarity with cleaning chemicals is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and common areas.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors; use brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing/waxing machines.
• Follow infection control, safety and procedural guidelines.
• May assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Depending on location, may use technology applications and be on feet most of the shift.
