Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Service Technician to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming care environment at our Gilbert, AZ campus. You will perform daily cleaning, disinfection, and waste management while engaging with patients, visitors, and staff to support infection prevention and patient experience.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and prior healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas and equipment, including occupied and discharge/transfer areas.
• Maintain cleaning carts, supplies, and equipment; dispose waste per procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Follow infection prevention practices (hand hygiene, PPE, isolation precautions) and safe chemical handling.
• Ensure timely room turnover and contribute to patient experience by maintaining a clean and safe environment.
