Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking an Environmental Services Technician at the Canistota, SD location to maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient and resident areas by following infection control, safety and cleaning protocols. This full-time, day-shift role offers 32 hours weekly with a wage of $15.00–$17.00 per hour and a location premium of $2.50/hr.

Prior healthcare housekeeping and strong customer service are preferred, and duties include cleaning patient rooms, hallways and common areas

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use a computer is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas by following infection control and safety guidelines.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors; operate cleaning equipment as needed.
• Keep storage, equipment and carts clean and well-stocked.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• May work varied hours including overtime, nights, weekends and holidays.
