Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe environment in patient areas and common spaces. You will follow infection control and safety guidelines, empty waste, sweep and mop floors, and ensure cleanliness across locations.

The role requires lifting up to 40–50 lbs, standing for long periods, and may involve overtime, nights, weekends, or holidays. Generous benefits and opportunities for advancement accompany the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer; prior cleaning experience helpful.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, methods, and equipment helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient rooms and assigned areas by infection control and safety guidelines.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, mop, wax, or polish floors; use brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing/waxing machines.
• Wear appropriate protective equipment and keep storage and carts organized and clean.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate and use technology applications where available.
• Able to lift/move up to 40–50 lbs and be on your feet for most of the shift; may work nights, weekends, or holidays.
