Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center in Portland, ME is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor to assign staff for daily and project-based sanitation tasks. You will help maintain a high standard of cleanliness by supervising operations, inspecting areas and equipment, and ensuring policies are followed.

You will orient and train personnel, maintain records and prepare performance reports, and ensure annual compliance education is completed. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a health care setting, with at least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficient in the use of a personal computer including word processing.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to independently take initiative and exercise good judgment in decision making.

Responsibilities

• Assigns employees to perform environmental services and sanitation tasks on a daily and project basis.
• Assists the director in maintaining a high quality standard of cleanliness by conducting inspections, and observe equipment in use and ensure that standards are being met.
• Maintains records and prepares reports on activities and work performance.
• Orients, trains and supervises departmental personnel.
• Ensures annual compliance education is completed.
