Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in emergency management or related discipline.
• One year of full-time emergency management-related experience.
• Obtain IS-100, IS-200, IS-700 and IS-800 within 60 days; AEM certification within 18 months; begin National Emergency Management Basic Academy IS-2200, G0191, E/L/G2300 within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and lead cross functional teams within the Medical Center and University for disruptions.
• Develop, review, and revise Emergency Procedures including the Emergency Operations Plan.
• Participate in Emergency Response for unplanned incidents.
• Facilitate recovery efforts to return to normal operations.
• Incorporate after-action findings to improve plans.
• Maintain communication readiness for internal and external operations.
• Coordinate emergency management projects and response.
• Staff UVA Alerts and Veoci systems.
• Staff an IC structured Medical Center Incident Command Team 24/7.
• Conduct employee and staff outreach and education.
• Understand Joint Commission Standards related to Emergency Management.
• Evening, night and weekend work as required; support severe weather operations.
