Job summary

Cushing Terrell in Boise, Idaho is seeking an Electrical Engineer or Designer to support electrical design across healthcare projects, from clinics to full hospitals. Based on-site in our Boise office, you will produce plans, sections, and details under the direction of a Project Engineer, covering power distribution, lighting, and life safety compliance.

This role welcomes licensed PEs or non-licensed designers with 5–10 years of experience; PE licensure is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• 5 to 10 years of electrical design experience, including power distribution, lighting and life safety.
• Proficiency with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Draft electrical plans, sections, and details under the direction of a Project Engineer.
• Develop one-line diagrams and perform arc-fault, short circuit, and arc flash analysis.
• Apply understanding of emergency power systems and life safety codes.
• Perform branch circuit design and calculations for service feeders and distribution.
• Support client meetings and translate requirements into design documents.
• Collaborate with teammates across disciplines to deliver coordinated outcomes.
• Grow expertise in healthcare electrical systems and code compliance.
