Job summary

Cushing Terrell in Boise, Idaho, is seeking an Electrical Engineer or Designer to support electrical design across healthcare projects, from medical office buildings and clinics to full-scale hospitals.

Based on-site in our Boise office, you will work within a collaborative team, producing plans, sections, and details under the direction of a Project Engineer, with a scope spanning branch circuiting, lighting systems and controls, power distribution, generator and emergency power systems, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• 5 to 10 years of electrical design experience, including power distribution, lighting and controls, and life safety design.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
• Strong analytical and mathematical problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft electrical plans, sections, and details under the direction of a Project Engineer, spanning healthcare project types.
• Develop one-line diagrams, including arc-fault, short circuit, and arc flash analysis, using design programs.
• Apply understanding of emergency power systems, generators, UPS, and life safety codes.
• Perform branch circuit design and calculations for service feeders and lighting systems.
• Participate in client meetings to translate requirements into design documents.
• Support senior team members and collaborate across disciplines for coordinated outcomes.
• Build proficiency in healthcare-specific systems and code compliance over time.
