Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking an Educator to enhance performance and professional development of employees at the Singing River Healthcare Academy. The role includes developing and coordinating educational programs for non-clinical training, guiding orientation, training, and ongoing staff development, and evaluating outcomes across all staff levels.

The Educator will align activities with accreditation standards and SRHS initiatives, and may require evening/night/weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required; bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration, Education, Business, or related field preferred.
• Must complete and maintain BCLS certification; BLS instructor certification within 6 months of start.
• De-escalation training must be completed by 90 days; must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
• Two years’ experience in Education or Human Resources; teaching experience preferred.
• Must be able to travel within the SRHS service area for education delivery using own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Educator enhances performance and professional development of Singing River Health System employees.
• Develops and coordinates educational programs and materials for traditional non-clinical areas of training.
• Facilitates orientation, training, ongoing staff development and evaluation for all personnel served.
• Participates in development of formal and informal education programs to improve quality standards and staff performance.
• Serves as resource and educator on new policies, procedures, equipment, and training.
• Keeps abreast of current training requirements and facilitates SRHS initiatives.
• Adjusts working hours (evenings/nights/weekends) to meet staff educational needs.
• Performs using DNV/CMS accreditation standards, CDC Infection Control guidelines, SRHS Nursing Plan.
