Job summary

Aventura at Assumption in North Lima, OH is seeking an Assistant Food Service Manager to support daily dining operations in a healthcare setting. You will help ensure meals meet resident needs, maintain sanitation standards, and uphold safety and regulatory requirements.

You will assist with menu management, recordkeeping, and coordinating with residents and staff to deliver high-quality service while supporting department leadership and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain established sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety standards.
• Work varied shifts as needed to support department operations.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, clients, coworkers, the Account Manager, District Manager, and the public.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to resident requests and the paging system.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and applicable industry regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Support a positive dining experience by responding to resident preferences and individual needs.
• Help ensure food service operations meet established quality and service expectations.
• Maintain professional working relationships with residents, clients, and team members.
• Address service concerns promptly and communicate issues to management when appropriate.
• Follow infection control procedures and universal precautions to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
• Recognize workplace hazards, use appropriate PPE, and follow safety procedures.
• Read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and assist with communicating safety requirements to employees.
• Help ensure equipment and supplies are properly maintained and available for daily operations.
• Assist with maintaining accurate menus and ensuring menus are completed according to established policies and procedures.
• Use available menu-planning software as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely records using computers and other documentation systems in accordance with company standards and applicable regulations.
