Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a Retail Manager to oversee the successful operation of the cafeteria/retail dining services under the direction of the Director of Dining Services.

You will plan, supervise, and train hourly staff, ensuring safe, efficient service, customer satisfaction, and strict cash controls across multiple shifts. This role emphasizes leadership, financial awareness, and adherence to corporate standards within a large healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or equivalent in food services management or related field is preferred.
• 1–3 years retail operational foodservice management experience preferred depending on degree.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation and food cost controls.
• P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience desirable.
• Experience with cash retail operations.
• Retail marketing experience highly desirable.
• Strong supervisory, leadership, coaching skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate across management, staff, customers and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of financial, budgeting, accounting and computational practices.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, email and internet.

Responsibilities

• Plans and supervises special functions, maintains cash controls, payroll records, and oversees hiring/training of hourly staff.
• Ensures customer satisfaction and public relations through safe and efficient resource use.
• Directs staff to provide scheduled retail services per policies and presentation standards.
• Trains staff in customer service, portioning, cashier skills, and safety/sanitation.
• Completes daily/weekly/monthly reports per corporate policies on time.
• Communicates effectively with team members, patients and families.
• Implements and maintains cash handling standards to prevent theft.
