Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals seeks an experienced data systems professional to support enterprise data processing, operations management, and network services for the MIS Computer Center. Responsibilities include evaluating system designs, featibility analyses, and implementing standardized electronic data methods within a healthcare IT environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with user departments, maintaining technical competence in current EDP technologies, and ensuring integrated systems

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree required with major as listed; five years of progressive data processing experience.
• Experience in data processing, computer systems and applications is required.
• Supervisory experience in Operations is required.
• Telecommunications background and network experience are required for Network Services.
• Broad knowledge of computer hardware, software, data management and retrieval.
• Equivalent combination of training, education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Recommend alternative approaches for data processing system design and selection for computerization.
• Develop designs for feasibility studies and analyze project requests.
• Recommend programs and standards to facilitate uniform data methods.
• Maintain high technical competence in EDP technology for health care MIS.
• Investigate and analyze processing problems in systems and programs.
• Select equipment to meet projected requirements based on cost, performance and support.
• Coordinate network equipment at remote sites and supervise network technicians.
• Interface with carriers to coordinate service and issue resolution.
