Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System is seeking a Data Scientist II to leverage advanced analytics, ML, and statistical methods on healthcare and operational data. You will collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and IT teams to translate analytical needs into technical solutions while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and health system policies.

The role focuses on developing predictive models for precision medicine, building scalable pipelines, and deploying models for real-time decision support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, CS, mathematics or related quantitative field is required.
• 3-5 years of data science experience, preferably in healthcare or life sciences.
• Experience with healthcare data including EHR, clinical databases or ERP data.
• Proven track record applying statistical analysis and machine learning to real-world healthcare problems.

Responsibilities

• Applies ML, NLP, and AI to structured and unstructured healthcare data.
• Develops predictive models integrating multi-omics data and clinical outcomes.
• Builds scalable data pipelines and connects data using graph databases to uncover relationships.
• Collaborates with data engineering and IT to operationalize models for real-time decision support.
