Job summary

Highmark Health invites graduate‑level students to join the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development Internship. You will work with researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, and software developers on advanced analytics and AI applications across four tracks: Knowledge Graphs, Medical Imaging, Predictive Modeling, and AI Applications.

Participants gain hands‑on experience with clinical data, develop novel analytics pipelines, and present findings to scientists and business stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• Pursuit of a graduate degree full or part-time acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with researchers to apply data science and ML methods to healthcare data.
• Assist with model development, evaluation, and experimentation across tracks.
• Communicate findings to technical and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to research projects in graphs, imaging, predictive modeling, and AI applications.
• Adhere to HIPAA, privacy policies, and company standards during data work.
• Support project planning and documentation under mentorship.
