Inland Empire Health Plans (IEHP) seeks a Data Retrieval Specialist to support the collection of medical records for key quality initiatives. Under the Manager, Data Quality, you will perform data entry, data management, and analysis while collaborating with providers across California.

The role requires 3+ years of admin experience and familiarity with EMR systems. Travel to provider offices in San Bernardino and Riverside counties is expected as part of the job.

Qualifications

• 3+ years administrative office experience.
• 1 year healthcare data collection experience.
• EMR technician experience preferred.
• Diploma or GED required.

Under the direction of the Manager, Data Quality, the Data Retrieval Specialist is responsible for providing technical, administrative, and clerical support for the year-round efforts to collect medical records for key quality projects (i.e., HEDIS, Risk Adjustment, DHCS special projects, ad hoc activities). Responsible for supporting departmental activities including collaboration with IEHP Providers for collection of medical records, data management, research, data entry, quality control, report generation and analysis, and adherence to established departmental workflows. The Data Retrieval Specialist exercises independent judgment to ensure appropriate escalation protocols when trends or deficiencies are identified.

Education & Requirements

• Three or more (3+) years of administrative experience in an office environment, including use of Microsoft Office Suite
• One (1) year of experience in healthcare data collection from various Electronic Medical Record systems
• Demonstrate superior interpersonal and administrative skills commensurate with years of experience
• Experience as an EMR technician preferred
• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate's degree from an accredited institution preferred
• Health Information Management (HIM) certification, preferred

Key Qualifications

• Must have a valid California Driver’s license and valid automobile insurance
• Must qualify and maintain driving record to drive company vehicles based on IEHP insurance standards of no more than three (3) points
• Understanding of and sensitivity to multi-cultural community
• Organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, experienced in data entry, and strong attention to detail are essential
• Ability to manage multiple tasks to coordinate, prepare and monitor projects and reports
• Ability to prioritize work to ensure adherence to project deadlines
• Excellent customer service and telephone courtesy

• The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
