Job summary

Protege is seeking Applied Healthcare Researchers to join DataLab and work directly with frontier-lab researchers and AI startups on healthcare data solutions. You will translate complex model-development goals into concrete data strategies, evaluate data feasibility, and build evidence to support data-driven training and evaluation objectives.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field or equivalent applied experience.
• Hands-on experience building ML/LLM-based systems for data extraction, classification, or prediction.
• Experience with healthcare data (claims, EMR/EHR, clinical notes, imaging, registries).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical and research contact for healthcare customer conversations.
• Translate lab goals into concrete data strategies and opportunities.
• Design feasibility studies pre-contract to validate data support and quality.
• Build an evidence base with benchmarks, validation analyses, and error characterisation.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to operationalize reusable research workflows.
