Skyward, a mission-driven team modernizing government services, seeks a Database Developer to architect clarity from complex healthcare data. You will build and maintain data views, ingest sources into CCW, and design robust ETL workflows in Snowflake.

You will collaborate with researchers, analysts, and CMS partners to ensure accuracy and usability. You should be fluent in SQL and Python, with ETL, Snowflake, and data governance experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data science, CS, information systems, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience as a Database Developer, ideally in a government or healthcare setting.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, ETL development, and Snowflake.
• Exposure to AI or Machine Learning for data quality and anomaly detection.
• Understanding of data management best practices (permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring).
• Familiarity with front-end requirements and ability to translate business needs into backend solutions.
• Knowledge of development tools such as the .NET Framework, JavaScript, HTML, and Oracle.
• A proactive problem-solving attitude and strong communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Support CMS researchers by disseminating data to healthcare researchers.
• Ingest new data sources into the CMS Chronic Conditions Data Warehouse (CCW).
• Build, optimize, and maintain data views for analysts.
• Design and support ETL workflows in Snowflake.
• Support production operations including off-hours ETL loads.
• Document processes and business logic for audits and onboarding.
• Collaborate with data analysts, leads, and CMS partners to align data structures.
• Proactively identify and resolve database or performance issues.
