Job summary

Tennr in New York, NY is seeking an experienced data engineer to own end-to-end data engineering, from ingesting data from EHR systems into Snowflake to designing governed data models and monitoring pipelines.

You will lead EHR discovery across 5–10 health systems, build scalable Snowflake-based pipelines using AWS or GCP, implement security and governance, and explore AI methods for unstructured referral documents to unlock clinical insights.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of data engineering experience building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Strong expertise with Snowflake and modern cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
• Healthcare data knowledge including claims and EHR systems, or ability to learn quickly.
• Healthcare-data security awareness, HIPAA considerations, governance, and compliance (a plus).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for complex integration challenges.

Responsibilities

• Own the data engineering function end-to-end and maintain production pipelines from Tennr’s application into Snowflake.
• Lead EHR discovery and integration across 5–10 healthcare systems with creative extraction/ingestion solutions.
• Own Snowflake as the strategic data platform, implementing security, governance, and vendor management.
• Design data models to transform raw data into usable analytics assets for internal teams.
• Implement monitoring and alerting to detect issues early and minimize business impact.
• Explore AI-enabled approaches to structure unstructured referral documentation and extract insights.
